The Skilled Labor Shortage #2
You Don’t Need a High-End Brokerage to Offer High-End Services
You had a listing appointment with some potential clients just a few days ago. You felt like you meshed well with them, and they seemed receptive to what you were saying. Ultimately, you walked away feeling like it was a done deal and you landed a new listing. Unfortunately, you may have gotten ahead of yourself.
Fast forward to a few days later and you find out these potential clients went with another real estate agent. They went with an agent whose brokerage offers high-end concierge services that yours does not. As a result, you lost another listing. Now you must find another potential client and start the sales pitch process all over again. With the low housing inventory this year and the large number of other Realtors out there, you cannot afford to keep losing these listings. It is time to start doing something different. If you don’t, you will continue to lose listings and your business will ultimately suffer.
What Sellers Want in an Agent
Nowadays, it is a competitive market for real estate agents. There are a limited number of listings available and a lot of agents are all going for the same ones. If you want to be successful in the industry, you need to know what potential clients are looking for and be able to meet their needs.
Most sellers are in search of a real estate agent who is knowledgeable about their local market and who also has good reviews. These wish list items are straightforward enough, but you can no longer get by on these two things alone. Sellers are expecting more from their agents, and you need to be able to deliver if you want to win their business.
In our 2022 Home Improvement Report, 72% of sellers said they chose real estate agents who came to listing presentations with options and white-glove solutions. We also found that 77% of sellers said they would choose a real estate agent who offered a pay-at-closing solution to them.1 If you are not pitching these types of services to clients at these appointments, you are missing out. And it is likely that you are losing your listings to someone who is. While your brokerage may not offer these types of services, it doesn’t mean you are out of luck.
You Can Do It on Your Own
If your brokerage firm does not offer white-glove concierge services, you are not alone. A lot of brokerage firms do not have these options available for their agents. As a result, their real estate agents do not offer them to their clients either. But this is a big missed opportunity for you. You are losing out on listings (and money) just because of what your brokerage will pay for.
Rather than sitting on the sideline and watching more listings pass you by, you can create your own luck in this market – and increase your income – by pitching Curbio to potential clients.
