Selling Homes During a Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic is our current reality, and social distancing is affecting both home sellers and buyers. Most buyers aren’t comfortable attending the usual open houses—and many sellers aren’t okay having crowds of buyers wandering through their homes.

So what can you do to sell homes during these trying times?

Opt for the Video Package

An increasing number of buyers are looking and narrowing down their selection online, which means perfecting your listing is crucial. Video and 3D virtual tours are usually a nice-to-have but are currently a huge advantage, and arguably, a must-have.

Stream Your Open House

Live streams of open houses allow multiple potential buyers to view the home without visiting in person. To create a smoother experience, consider getting a stabilizer for your phone.

Virtual Tours and Chats

As an agent, you can provide virtual tours and chats to more serious buyers. Buyers can ask questions, view rooms from various angles, and get close-ups upon request—all from the comfort of their own homes.

Agent Previews

Agents can continue to preview listings for their buyers. After the preview, they can decide whether or not to move on with a private showing.

Private Showings

Not many buyers want to make such a big purchase without seeing a home in person, but private home showings are still safe! Just make sure to have disinfecting supplies handy.

Carry on With Pre-Sale Renovations

For sellers who are still getting ready for the spring and summer markets—or even choosing to wait out the pandemic, there’s a lot that can be done to create the perfect listing. The initial stages of Curbio’s process are all done virtually, which means you can get ready for market while keeping a safe distance (learn more about how virtual walkthroughs work). And once we start work on your project, you can rest assured that we’re taking extra precaution to keep any sick Project Managers or subcontractors at home. If you’re ready to get started with pre-sale renovations, submit a request for an estimate.

Even with social distancing, sellers can improve, show off, and sell their homes. Below you can see how agents are taking advantage of technology and more private, in-person showings.
